We want you to be 100% satisfied not only with our products, but also with our service. We will work with you as much as possible to make sure your experience at the Costume Kitty is nothing short of exceptional. Below you will find our return policy. The Basics:
  1. The Costume Kitty accepts returns on eligible merchandise  initiated within 5 days (7 days for Collectibles) of order delivery. A $9.99 return mailing fee will be deducted from the total refund. After 5 days, we may accept or refuse returns on eligible items on a case by case basis and with, or without, a restocking fee of up to 50%.
  2. Any merchandise returns on eligible orders processed and/or shipped between October 15th and November 7th will be subject to a 50% restocking fee as well as a $9.99 return mailing fee. 
  3. Returns must be shipped back to us within 14 days of the return being initiated and shipping label received via email. Orders received after 14 days from a return label being sent may be assessed a restocking fee of up to 50% which will be deducted from your refund. 

The Details

How do I return my order?


If you have an item that is eligible for return, simply send an email to orders@thecostumekitty.comBe sure to include your order # in the email body for faster turn around. 

Once we receive your request, we will send you a pre-paid USPS shipping label.

Once the label is sent, you will have 14 business days to ship the return. Items received after the 14 business day timeframe will be assessed a 50% restocking fee.   

Place the merchandise along with a copy of the emailed return invoice in a package and affix the provided label. You will then need to drop the package off at an authorized USPS Priority Mail dropoff location.

Once the item is received within the allowed return time frame, the original item cost minus shipping and return fees will be refunded within 5-7 business days. All returns are subject to an $9.99 return shipping fee that will be deducted from your total refund. We cannot refund original shipping fees.


Return Process Timeframe

Returns processed or initiated no later than 5 days within receiving merchandise are eligible for a 100% refund of initial purchase minus any shipping fees associated with the order (EXCEPT BETWEEN OCTOBER 15th and November 7th*).

Returns During Halloween Season (October 15th - November 7th)

Any merchandise returns (on eligible items) processed and/or shipped between October 15th and November 7th will be subject to a 50% restocking fee as well as return fees. The Costume Kitty reserves the right to waive or assess shipping and return fees on a case by case basis during this time. 

Due to limited product availability during this time, if you would like to process an exchange during this time, please contact orders@thecostumekitty.com so that we may discuss exchange options.


What Items are Eligible for a Return?

  • Costumes must be unworn and in their original packaging and resealable condition.
    • Costumes that are taken out of their original packaging and tried on for size are considered new and are eligible for a refund. Original Packaging must be in pristine condition upon return. 
    • Accessories like hair pieces (wigs, mustaches, beards, eyebrow attachments) must be sealed in their original packaging where applicable.
    • Costumes that are worn outside of the initial sizing check are not eligible for a refund.
    • Undergarments that come with costumes must be unopened in their original accessory packaging where applicable. We cannot accept costume returns where the undergarment(s) has/have been taken out of its/their original packaging, for sanitary and health reasons. There is no exception.
  • Eyelashes in a new and unopened condition
  • Cosmetics in a new and unopened condition
  • Prosthetic appliances in a new and unopened condition
  • Artificial teeth in a new and unopened condition
  • Accessories in a new/unused condition in original packaging
  • Collectibles must be sealed with its original seals, unopened, and undamaged.


What Items are Not Eligible for Return?

For sanitary and health reasons, we cannot accept returns on the following items:

  • Wigs
  • Hair accessories (mustaches, beards, and extensions with their packages opened)
  • Eyelashes (with its package opened)
  • Cosmetics (with its package opened)
  • Prosthetic Appliances (ears, noses, chins, scars with their packages opened)
  • Artificial teeth (with its package opened)
  • Undergarments
  • Pet Costumes


When will I receive my refund?

Refunds will be issued to the original payment method within 5-7 business days (Monday - Friday) from the date of our warehouse receiving your item. If there is an issue with your return, or the condition of the returned merchandise, we will contact you via email immediately.
